I'm a PhD student in the School of Information Technologies at the University of Sydney, Australia, under the supervision of James Curran and David Hawking.

I have a Bachelor of Science (Bioinformatics) (Honours) degree from the University of Sydney, majoring in advanced biochemistry and computer science. For my honours thesis I developed new Association Rule Mining algorithms for identifying gene relationships in microarrays.

I am interested in applying computational linguistics to improve biomedical information retrieval and extraction. This research is supported by a CSIRO ICT Centre postgraduate scholarship, an Australian Postgraduate Award and a Bicentennial Award.

My other interests include data mining, machine learning and developing bioinformatics software.
