I am associate professor for data engineering at the University of Sydney, School of Computer Science. I am organising the School's Database Research Group, and as the Program Director for the Master of Data Science (MDS), I am looking after all academic issues of the Master of Data Science program at the University of Sydney. As such, I was also involved in introducing new majors on Data Science and Computational Data Science to the undergraduate programs of the University of Sydney. My current research interests are:
- Data Management on Multicore Hardware and with RDMA
- Middle-tier Caching and Replication Management
- Data Processing for Bioinformatics
- Data Mining of Time Series Data from Mass Cytometry
- Cloud Data Management
My project offerings for 2017 are available now!
I maintain a list of current projects offerings for interested students. If you are looking for a project (Honours, MIT or TSP) in the areas of data management or software engineering, and you have good under- / postgraduate grades (strong CR average and above), please email me.
