Agreement

By submitting this information, I, the user of this web site, indicate that I accept the following agreement with the administrator of this web site, with its author (Jeffrey H. Kingston) and with its sponsor (School of Information Technologies, University of Sydney, Australia).

  1. I agree to use this web site only under my own name.

  2. I agree to use this web site only for solving timetabling problems for institutions that actually exist and for which I am authorized to act, and to enter those institutions' true names, addresses, and telephone numbers.

  3. On behalf of those institutions I make all of the data I enter into this web site freely available to the author of this web site and to his colleagues in the timetabling research community world-wide, for the sole purpose of research into timetable construction. Exception: my name, and the addresses and telephone numbers of my institutions, I make available to the administrator of this web site only, for the sole purpose of administering this web site, including establishing my bona fides.

  4. I accept that this web site and the data I enter into it may not be available when I need it, and that this web site may not be able to solve my timetabling problem instances to my satisfaction even when available. I accept that this is fair and reasonable given the difficulty of the problem and the fact that this web site is being made available to me completely free of charge, owing to the decision of its author not to charge for the use of his intellectual property and software, and of its sponsor not to charge for its computer processing time, disk space, and network bandwidth that I will consume when using this web site.

  5. I accept that my account and data may be rendered inaccessible to me without notice by the administrator of this web site if, in his opinion, I have violated this agreement.

  6. I accept that my account may be removed permanently if it contains no instances that have been created or updated in the last 3 years; and that all of my data will be irretrievably lost if this occurs.

  7. I agree to allow other people to use my account only in accordance with items 2 to 7 of this agreement.

If you cannot accept this agreement, use the Back button on your browser now to leave this page.

The user of this web site may be an intermediary, such as a paid consultant or software system. An intermediary is bound by this agreement just like any other user, but in addition, an intermediary must inform each institution that KTS is being used, and what it is being used for.

Members of the timetabling research community and others are welcome to create accounts for the purpose of reviewing KTS or using its archiving features. When reviewing KTS, they are exempted from item 2 above, and may enter moderate amounts of fictitious data, under the name of the institution to which they are affiliated if any. They should remove all fictitious data and delete their accounts when their reviews are complete.
