Brief Bio
I received my PhD in Mathematics in 1995 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
My Phd advisor was Suzzanne Lenhart. The University of Tennessee is best known for the Lady Vols.
From 1995-1997 I was an industrial postdoc at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), University of Minnesota. My postdoc was partially
funded by Honeywell Corporation. IMA is one-of-a-kind institution where
the top applied mathematicians (computer scientists and engineers) frequently
visit and give lectures and tutorials.
From 1997-2000 I was a postdoc, with Shashi Shekhar, in the Department of Computer Science and
the Army High Performance Computing Research Center at the University
of Minnesota. Sometimes I still listen to the Prairie Home Companion
From July 2000 till July 2002 I worked for Vignette Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts. I received the Vignette "All Star Award" for Q1, 2002. If you

Since August 2002, I am at the School of Information Technologies (SIT), U
niversity of Sydney. Currently, I am an Associate Professor and also the
Associate Head of SIT
I am also the Chief Scientific Officer of Dtecht, which is a CMCRC spin-off involved in the real-time surveillance of health insurance claims.
