The School of IT has moved!

The School of IT has moved! The new building is located on Cleveland Street, adjacent to the Seymour Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for the School to further develop with state of the art labs and teaching facilities.

The building was designed by the architects Francis-Jones Morehen Thorp.

The Building

The building contains approximately 10,000 square metres gross floor area or 6,500 square metres useable floor area and 2 underground floors of parking.

Four floors are dedicated to the teaching and research functions of the School of IT. The building houses:

  • academic staff, research postgraduate and honours students
  • administration and technical support
  • Masters by coursework students

The building also includes specialist laboratories and one small lecture theatre that seats 50, and features high quality finishes, state of the art IT infrastructure, innovative “chilled beam” airconditioning and a modern glass and stainless steel exterior.

Building work commenced on 25 October 2004 and the School relocated in June 2006.
